NEWS

• My Pilates teaching has been limited as I built my new studio from the ground up. Delays have been the norm, and I have been as frustrated with them as many potential new clients, but I am pleased to say that the building is up and nearly running. Only smaller details like installation of fixtures, landscaping, and fencing remai to be done before we are up for our final inspection with the city. The new studio will be a beautiful, private and spacious pet-free and shoe-free environment with huge windows looking out onto a private garden. If you wish to be added to an e-mail list, I will let you know when my studio reopens for business.

• I am making a bigger effort to update my site with dates when I will be teaching dance and/or yoga. The locations for dance classes are at one of three studios: Rhythm & Motion is in SF on Mission between 7th & 8th Streets, Dance Mission is in SF on 24th Street just off Mission Street, and Shawl Anderson is on Alcatraz at College in Oakland. The location for yoga classes is Piedmont Yoga on Piedmont Avenue at Monte Vista in Oakland:

• Pilates "walk-in" mat classes have been replaced with pre-registered eight week series of mat classes designed to introduce people to pilates, working from the very beginning to the intermediate level. The walk-in mat classes too often threw beginners and advanced people together such that neither could benefit maximally from class. The new pre-registered series will ensure that students of the same level come together and work at a mutually comfortable pace towards common goals. Our first session in the Fall was so much fun that the group requested another eight week session working from the intermediate to advanced level. I'd look forward to offering another beginning level class, however, if there is enough interest from a group of brand spanking new students.Currently, I am waiting until my new studio gets built this spring before beginning a new group, but let me know of your interest.
