Tim & Kath's Garden-To-Be
As many of you know, we have invested years designing and building Kath's backyard pilates/yoga studio.

The studio's many windows are intended to wash the room with light and provide gorgeous views (eventually) of our garden.

We also built a huge, new deck off the back of our house, so that we can enjoy the sights and smells of our garden on weekends, too.

The yard has been cleaned up, graded, sheet mulched, and irrigated. We have a plant design. All we need now to complete our vision are the plants.

Our most immediate need is trees and bamboo to create a privacy screen between Kath's clients are our neighbors to the north, east, and west.

Below are some images of plants we will be installing. We want to stress that there is no need to "buy a plant" specifically or in full. Trees can be very expensive! That said, if the idea of contributing to our garden inspires you more than the idea of giving us plates or appliances, we would genuinely appreciate a gift of any size. We love the idea that we will be planting shortly after our weddings. In the coming years, we can watch our garden (and our marriage) grow fuller, stronger, and more beautiful. It will bring grace into our lives, and every time we look at it, we will be reminded of our wedding year, and everyone who helped us turn this dream into reality.

We tried to set up a formal registry with a landscaper and/or nursery, but this became logistically unrealistic. Our landscaper is understandably wary of making her accounting overly complex, and instead of relying solely on a single nursery, she prefers to hand-select the most attractive specimens from a variety of sources. Also, the exact planting dates have not yet been determined, but will likely happen in at least two phases before the end of this year. Because of these various factors, the easiest way to make a gift towards our garden is simply to send us a check--please let us know if there's a specific plant that particularly speaks to you from those listed below. Checks should be sent to us at home: Kath & Tim, 575 Chetwood Street, Oakland, CA 94610.
