From there, we looped back into southern Utah to a place called Bryce Canyon.

Dad really loved this place, and took lots of pictures.

Mum is scared of heights, so she clung to the railing ...

Dad photographed some amazingly beautiful things!

And some oddly beautiful things, too.

Mum got a little dizzy.

We met a really nice couple, with whom we promised to stay in touch.

Zion is this really huge place.

We couldn't quite wrap our brains around it.

The ground itself is like a geology lesson.

Dad found it all very interesting and talked about it a lot over dinner. Mum and I did not find it so interesting, but we tried not to let on.
After Zion, Mum & Dad drove like madmen for two days to get us back home. We weren't really sure why at first, but then it occurred to us that they probably missed Buster as much as we did, just like last year. We suggested that next summer they just bring Buster along.
